Rules

How the weekly cycle works

• Billboard week (display): Monday 12:00am ET → Sunday 11:59:59pm ET. Winners' ads show for that whole week.
• Auction window: Saturday 12:00am ET → Saturday 11:59:59pm ET. That Saturday auction fills the following Monday–Sunday week.
• Each new week resets; ranks do not carry over automatically.

Saturday auction

• Open to every US city/town on the map (national).
• Lazy auctions: a city's auction only starts when someone places the first bid during Saturday's window. No first bid Saturday → no auction row for that place that week.
• Floor bid $1.00.
• Top 10 bids win ranks #1–#10 for the next display week (highest bid = #1 / crown).
• Bidding uses a card hold (authorize). You are charged only if you win a top-10 rank when Saturday closes; losers' holds are released.
• One account may place more than one bid in the same auction. Each bid is a separate hold and can win a separate rank.
• Normal product auctions run on Saturday only.

Buy-now (after the auction)

• After Saturday's auction ends, any empty ranks and leftover unfilled ranks for that auction's target week become buy-now at a fixed ladder: #1=$10, #2=$9, … #10=$1.
• Example: 8 auction winners → ranks #9 and #10 available at $2 and $1.
• Buy-now is an immediate charge, not a hold.
• Buy-now lasts only for that billboard week (through Sunday night ET) — not a rolling 7 days from purchase. A Tuesday buy only covers through that Sunday.
• Places that never got bids Saturday still get buy-now for all 10 ranks after the window closes.

Board content

Winners and buy-now owners can set a title, description, link (website or social), and image. Square images around 1200×1200 work best.

You can also add an optional business address. When we can find it, your business shows as a pin on the home map for that week. Leave it blank and no pin appears.
